In my opinion, I think Batman must be one of the superman. Firstly, superhero doesn't mean just that somebody have super power, it also means people should have quality such as wisdom ambition and kindness. Secondly, I would prefer to be a superhero like Batman, who doesn't have superpowers per se, but who relies on his intelligence and use of the right tools to get the job done. Lastly, he was a peculiar man and he had lived a strange life. So Batman can be the means of bringing a peaceful balance, when others lose their way and recast strongly to what is happening around them. These are the reason why I believe that Batman is one of the superman.

Today our argument about batman was a heated debate. Our group believe he is a superhero, because he has super tools and he try to save the whole city. However, another group don’t think he is a superhero, the reasons is he is just regular person, and he doesn’t have any super power. Maybe our different definition about superhero lead us to argue this question.
ReplyDeleteBatman is a regular person, and he is rich. As a sufferer from the bad people, he never stop to fighting with the bad guys. He have super tools, and try to protect the public and save the whole city in the end. Therefore, we believe he is a super hero. People become our superhero not because of how super they are, because of they speak our hopes and make us feel safe. They teach us what is justice and how to fight with our darkness. So we strongly believe batman is a superhero.

Our debate was about the question "Is Batman a superhero ?" and I was on the side that believed Batman is not a superhero. I and one of my friends talked believe he is not a superhero for significant points. The other group said their opinions,defended their side but our main goal was to prove Batman is not a superhero so we started talking about how we shaped our opinions and explained how he was not a hero by saying the fact that he has no super power, he is just rich and because of money he buys the tools that he needs and with the help of them he achieves what he wants to do. And we defended the fact that police men help people, protect them but it doesn't make them a super hero. The other group kept saying the part of definition of

The definition of "Superhero" is a hero that has super powers and help, protect people. However, Batman is just a person who has peak human abilities and it obviously doesn't mean he has super power and he is rich. he uses money to buy the tools that he needs to do what he is supposed to do. Moreover, policemen are the ones who help people too but they don't have super powers so they are not superheros. Otherwise, we could call them superhero too. So in my opinion, Batman goes under the definition of hero not a superhero
Summary for the debate
ReplyDeleteDuring today’s core class we had a short debate upon whether the Batman is a superhero as the Superman. Jin and I supported that Batman is a superhero while Ace and Kang defended that he isn’t. They pointed out that the Batman does not have superpower, what he has is only money, and he spends his money to buy advanced equipments that allow him to become a special person. They also decline that some people like Japanese Ninja and Robinson can be counted as heroes, but because they don’t have the superpowers, no one consider them as superheroes. They think there’re same problems in the Batman’s case, he can be a hero, however people shouldn’t think of him as a superhero due to the lack of superpower.
Jim and I proved our opinion through one example. We pointed out that all the superheroes are fantasy characters, and they have one common duty, which is to protect people from dangers. Beside we mentioned that we should not compare the superheroes with real heroes such as Ninja or Robinson. These images of superheroes are created by writers or actors. Therefore both Batman and the superman are superheroes.

I agree with the point that Batman is superhero. I will explain my view from three different aspects.
ReplyDeleteFirst, depending on how we think about superhero. Instead of making a simple decision that superman is superhero because of “super”, actually we find that only those people who are dedicated to protect the public and take actions from a moral sight can be taken as a superhero. In that case, Batman matches all the requirements and he is the superhero. For example, he did not give up himself after suffering for a long time but became a brave and responsible guy who is always find ways to solve the problems for the moneyless or the homeless. He did help them through offering them a job or teaching them to build house rather than just gave money.
Also, there may have some similarities regarding to Batman and Superman’s family background. Such as they both lose their parents at the childhood, and grew up in a relative’s family even once felt lonely and hopeless. However their thinking and logical became very different after many years. Facing to the situation of helping homeless, Superman prefer to give money while Batman assistant them to build new house and let them know how to build. You can distinguish which is likely to be superhero easily from this example.
Third, Superhero is much smarter than a hero because he know to use tools to against enemy. Batman got the tools not because he is rich but he knew to obtain extra help from outside. He used money by a right way-to get more useful physical materials, rather than just bought ordinary goods. This showed superhero’s quality and could make more sense to public instead of individual.
So these are my opinions about why I think Batman is superhero.
Today's class we had a debate about whether batman is superhero. Shadman and Ang addressed that batman is a superhero however Andy and I stated opposite idea which is batman is not a superhero.
ReplyDeleteShadman and Ang first use the definition of superheroes to persuaded us agree their point, Then they talked about superman and batman have the similar family background and also they have the standard moral principle. Also they stated that superhero is smarter than hero, batman can use and create so many high-tech tool for beat the bad guy, that's totally can prove batman is a superhero.
However, our group disagree with that, first the wiki is not a reliable resources, so the definition of superhero is not accurate. Then, we also discussed about the definition of superhero, we deliberated people who have super nature power and use that to help others, that is superhero. In addition, we use police and ninja as an example, they both use tools to help others, however no one call them superhero. batman also have the same situation. Therefore, we mediated batman is not a superhero.
Modern day, superheroes are most influential part in society.Many film companies made superheroes movies and many companies produce production for superheroes. Following this situation, many people start to debate that batman is superhero? Some people may argue that batman is not superhero because, he have no super natural power. However, I think that batman is superhero.

However, people state that if people who protecting public can be superhero, police or volunteer work can be superhero. On the other hand, superheroes are imaginary person who exist in comic books world. That’s why people can’t consider that policeman or firefighter are superhero. In addition, batman use tool such as weapon and new technology vehicle so, he is just normal person. However, superman also use sunlight. If there is no sunlight, superman also just normal person. This argument that batman is not superhero because, his power is depending on tool can’t be strong opinion. According to those reasons, batman can be superhero.

ReplyDeleteIn class the debate question was, 'Is batman consider as a super hero?'. Our side believed that Batman should not be selected as a superhero. We argued the other side with few arguments and rebuted them. Our group made a point that superhero is a hero that is different such as using a super pwer ability which is a super natural power. Super hero is origianlly came up to the people as a existence of impossible. However, by showing to people that super hero beating up a villain with their superpower gives a good impression of hope and imagination. Our group rebuted the idea of the other gorup. They argued that if a charactor has some kind of moral idea to defend the innocent people and act like a hero than it is a super hero. For that argument, we counter argued that if that is right than all the police or normal people can become a super hero since some of the people in this world has same ideologies like bat man. In this case we asked that if that is ture than all the policemen in this world are also super hero.
People prefer to watch superhero movies to feel that justice would win against crimes. In addition, people have a dream that they want to be like superheros and have superpowers. There is a always debate that batman should be superhero such as Superman and Thor since people started to watch superhero movies. However, I don’t think batman should be called as a superhero. Some people claim that superheros protect people, public facilities, and also the Earth. Thus, they say batman is a also superhero.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, I firmly disagree with them. Superheros must have their own natural super powers. For example, Superman has few abilities such as power of seeing through, flying sky, and eye laser. Nevertheless, batman doesn’t have any natural superpowers, he only can get powers from tool that useful for him. If batman is superhero, every rich guys can be superheros by using, buying their tools, weapons, and vehicles. Thus, I think batman could be called as a hero, but he is not SUPERHERO as well.
