9/4 Weekend Homework Assignment

Type a final draft of your 5-6 paragraph paper due to Lauren on Tuesday morning by 8.30 am.

• The paper should be properly formatted (12pt, times new roman, 2x spaced, page numbers, name/date/class/title)
• Have proper layout: 
• Introduction
•  Summary paragraph of 'Living Outside the Box' article
• 2-3 body paragraphs expressing your opinion of the article supported with reasons and examples
• Conclusion
• Use as reference:
•  Blog posts from 8/31-today
•  Q:RW pg 84-86 
• Lauren's editing notes from drafts as reference.  

EAP- 

Create a 5-7 minute presentation with Power Point (PPT) about 'The Greatest Change in Technology' for EAP class on Tuesday 9/8. 

• Choose, research and present about what you think is 'The Greatest Change in Technology'

1. Choose what you believe is the biggest change in technology. (ex: cell phones, computers, internet, ect.)
2. Research the history of this technology, find 3 sources and properly cite them in MLA style on the last slide of your PPT
3. Create a timeline of major development in this technology. Write in your own words. Do NOT use language from your sources.
4. Create a PPT that:
• introduces the technology
• shows a timeline of it's developments and highlights the major changes. (verbally explain to the class the impact of these changes on our lives)
• Explains why you have chosen this technology as the greatest. 
5. Prepare and present to the class with visuals (5-7 minutes) & cite resources. 
• Presentation must include presentation skills from Lecture Ready 2 book:
• Greeting the audience
• Catching the audience's attention by telling a story
• Creating rapport with the audience throughout the presentation
